Rotary Youth Camp

The Rotary Youth Camp is a camp for handicap children located in Lee's Summit (just off Colburn Road & 95th Street). It allows these children to experience outdoor living with assistance from volunteers. We can help these kids by providing the camp with some basic needs. For the new bath building, they need toilets, sinks, plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, tiles (wall and floor), paint, benches for locker area, washers and dryers .

Think very green - it doesn't get any greener then this.

Rotary would appreciate any and all help we can give them. In return, we can count on them for plenty of local and national attention. Would you please be willing to help with products or on a committee?

I'm looking forward to working with you on this Event. Please contact me directly and let Susan Prestia know if you are able to provide products, time or help. The kids are counting on us! She is sincerely eager to get started!

Cystic Fibrosis Update

Twenty four designers volunteered to spend 1 - 2 hours with clients signing up for "Spring Spruce Up." The clients have paid or will pay $100 an hour for the consultations, to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. To this point, 21 customers have signed up and been paired with a designer.

Some appointments have been completed, and clients have been happy with the results. Three of the designers met with Amy Perkins, CFF volunteer coordinater. Amy has 2 great sons, George and John, who has Cystic Fibrosis. Amy was able to recruit a few sponsors to help with the cost of placing an ad in the KC Star to attract clients. Pro Source flooring and carpet has agreed to discount an extra amount to clients of Spring Spruce Up, and Sherwin Williams and California Closets gave money to help with the ad. We all appreciate our IPs getting involved. Thank you!

The designers are named in the March - April newsletter and will also be named in the May - June KCH&G insert. The pictured designers are Barbara Bishop, Allied Member ASID, Marsha Marsden, Allied Member ASID, and Nancy Gleason, Allied Member ASID.
