"HOT TOPIC" Peer Group Session

Wow! I can't believe that 2007 is gone and we are already well into 2008. How time flies when you are working diligently and hopefully having a little fun along the way.

We had some wonderful discussions last year for our "HOT TOPICS" Peer Group meetings. The intimate group settings really allows for some lively conversations. I want to thank again Sunderland Brothers, Rosemann & Associates, and The Design Connection for hosting our events.

This year I am already underway with lining out some fantastic topics to spoon over. Have you ever wondered how to get your clients interested in pianos and how to select the proper one for them? What about "Green" lighting and is there such a thing? How about how to select artwork, and know the difference between styles? There is always the infinite question of where to find something or who if anyone can I have build it?

Our last meeting was Thursday, April 24th. Check the calendar or contact me for more information about the next meeting. I will also be sending out information via e-mail for the next meeting location, time, and "HOT TOPIC" for discussion so please keep an eye out for it.

This is only a small taste of what is in store this year, however I am always looking to find something new that you the membership want to bring to the table. I draw all of my ideas from what input you provide so please keep the ideas flowing to my mailbox.

When you respond saying you will be participating, please let me know a few of the following items:

  • What you would like to have for a "Hot Topic" subject?
  • What day and time would work best for you to attend?
  • What are your suggestions on locations for the meeting?

Whether you are a student member, successful professional, or nearing retirement, this is the group for you. I look forward to meeting you and having you onboard for a knowledgeable experience. Please send your acknowledgements and ideas to me, Lori Schiefen, ASID.

You would be amazed what you can learn from your peers. Also never underestimate what they can learn from you so in leaving I ask, "What can you bring to the table?"

Lori Schiefen, ASID
